Thomas W. Blume earned a Ph.D. in Marital and Family Therapy at Texas Tech University, specializing in conflict processes in couples. His work has focused on divorce, remarriage, and stepfamilies; families in adolescence; families in recovery; and new couple relationships.
Dr. Blume is licensed in Michigan as a Professional Counselor (LPC) and as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). He is a Clinical Member and an Approved Supervisor in the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and has been designated a National Certified Counselor by the National Board for Counselor Certification. He is an Associate Professor at Oakland University, where he teaches courses in counseling theory and family counseling.
